Powers of Attorney

The two most familiar types of powers of attorney are the durable power of attorney and the advanced health care directive power of attorney (previously known as a ‘living will’).

The durable power of attorney allows you to designate a person to act as your financial manager in the future, should you be unable to manage your finances on your own.

The advanced health care directive power of attorney allows you to designate a person to make medical decisions in accordance with your predetermined wishes at such a time as you may be unable to make these decisions on your own.
